Could you provide us some basic info about your band?
Conteched became fully operational in October 2007 and
hails from Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Strong, harsh
music meant for people who are completely fed up with
everything that companies, politicians and media shove
down their throats every day. People who like to think
for themselves.
Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the
compilation?
Mr. Conman is not only the very first song Conteched
made, but it also represents best what we stand for. It
combines the raw and agressive feel of metal and the
chilling atmosphere of industrial. The song is about the
hundreds commercial messages the human mind is bombarded
with every day. Making people believe they need more and
more and feeding them with a feeling they have to live
up to certain standards.
How important is and has the internet been for your
band?
The internet is up till now the only way we promote
ourselves and make ourselves heard. Musicwise it ables
people to develope their own taste and find new music.
What are the views upon the local music industry in
your native country?
We hate it.
And what about the rest of the world?
See the preverious answer. Manufacturing artists, music,
video’s and everything that goes with it. Exploiting
trends, artists and the public. Completely disregarding
the huge number of people who like to listen to
something else or at least define their own taste. The
music industry truly is an industry.
How do you see the role of the record labels in the
music industry in about 10 years?
For any music outside the prefabricated, massproduced
genres, the labels will be completely obsolete.
What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal
Webzine?
We think it’s a great opportunity for new bands to find
their way to an audience. And for fans it’s great to get
to know new bands for free.
Do you have some final words to add?
