Could you provide us
some basic info about your band?
We are Cuntworm, an American Industrialized Black Metal
band that has been told to keep it down since 2002.
Why did you exactly pick this track to appear on the
compilation?
We chose the song "Crowning the Serpent" because we feel
it is something most metalheads could get into. That,
and we've been listening to it a lot ourselves, so we
felt it needed to be shared with the masses.
How important is and has the internet been for your
band?
The internet has pretty much made us what we are today.
Due to the distance between our members, we utilize the
internet a lot for file sharing and for other
collaborations.
What are the views upon the local music industry in
your native country?
Obviously the mainstream is nothing but crap, it's the
same way all over the world. The underground is
definitely where it is at. It's only disheartening to
find all these amazing artists confined to unknown indie
labels. What makes it even worse, is that these indie
labels don't make any money, cause everyone is
downloading their shit, then the label goes under along
with all this kickass shit that they released. Kinda
disheartening.
And what about the rest of the world?
I think it's about the same everywhere, but I think
Japan has some decent music coming out of their
mainstream scene.
How do you see the role of the record labels in the
music industry in about 10 years?
I think in about 10 years most record labels will have
abandoned pressing physical cds. I believe everything
will be digital soon enough. Preloaded mp3 players, usb
devices full of tracks, I think that'll be the next
evolutionary step for the major labels. Besides, who
even uses a cd player anymore these days?
What are your opinions on the Industrialized Metal
Webzine?
I fucking love it. I've always been a fan of industrial-tinged
metal, and i think it's about goddamn time someone cover
the genre that i hold such a high regard for.
Do you have some final words to add?
Don't believe in the government and don't believe in
what a church tells you. your best interest is the
farthest from their minds.
