Artist: THEE
MALDOROR KOLLECTIVE
Album: A Clockwork Highway
Year: 2004
Thee Maldoror Kollective from Italy is one of the bands
who is mentioned over here from the beginning. They were
introduced to me as an extravagant group of individuals.
The chance to listen to A Clockwork Highway was for me
the first chance to listen to their music.
First thing I noticed that 'industrialized metal' aint a
good explanation for their music, but 'metallized
industrial' fits way better. But, to say that this is
just EBM with guitars? Hell no! This band has got a lot
more to offer. A Clockwork Highway is filled with (very
long,) complex songs with lots of variation. The way
they use the sampling is pretty chaotic, but it fits
well to the music. Track two (Who Dares To Kill The Lion?)
could fit perfectly on a soundtrack of every war movie.
I think this band can be described as a mix between
Suicide Commando and Nine Inch Nails, but with more
chaos and less cyber. I am pretty curious how this band
sounds live, and every time I listen to this record it
gets better and better.
